Headshot/Family FAQ

Will you tell me what to do?

Yes. I try to direct your shoot! I will give you as much direction as you feel is comfortable, however, if there is a specific idea you want to try, it definitely helps get my creative mind going when you can help me create a personalized atmosphere.

What should I wear?

I recommend staying away from large busy patterns or words that would pull focus away from yourself. I also suggest bringing 2 contrasting outfits (so a dressy outfit and a casual outfit option). It is best if you bring clothes that fit well and you are comfortable in. For family shoots, please try to coordinate styles (they don't have to match, but if everyone is in a sweater, don't have one person in a tank top).

What if it rains?

If it rains, I will waive your session fee, and reschedule for no additional charge. We can't control the weather, and I can't bring my camera in the rain!

What kind of gear do you use?

I currently shoot with Nikon. I have shot with Canon as well, but my first college camera was a Nikon, and I went back to it after shooting Canon a few years. For headshots, I prefer to shoot on a digital camera and an 85mm lens.

How long does it take to get the photos back and how many do I get?

I try to have the photos back within a week. If you need the photos done the next day, sometimes I have availability, and when I do, I will charge an additional fee, as I'll be queuing you ahead of other photoshoots I'm working on. Ten photos will be edited and returned to you digitally, and an unedited low resolution gallery will be available to view of all the other photos. You can purchase digital rights to the unedited ones if you choose.

Wedding FAQ

Do you shoot destination weddings?

Will there be a second shooter?

What do you need from me?

What kind of gear do you use?

Do I have to order prints through you?

Wedding FAQ

Do you shoot destination weddings?

Absolutely. I am available for travel absolutely anywhere! Expenses will cover flight and lodging in a nearby hotel.

Will there be a second shooter?

You want lots of angles! Upon request, I can ask for a second shooter to be available, but as I only ask other seasoned professionals and up and comers to shoot with me, I cannot guarantee their availability. A second shooter would add an additional fee to the base cost.

What do you need from me?

I love timelines! If you don't have one, I can help you create a rough draft that you can discuss with your wedding planner. It really helps me know what is happening, when I can take a bathroom break or a snack break, and what is important to you.

What kind of gear do you use?

I currently shoot with Nikon. I have shot with Canon as well, but my first college camera was a Nikon, and it just feels good to me. For weddings, I bring an entire kit of lenses with me, so I have the option to choose what lens best suits the moment.

Do I have to order prints through you?

You don't, but it is recommended, as my printer is checking color tones to make sure your skin looks like... skin. I also try to keep my prices as low as possible for my customers. Printers at the drugstores and supermarkets aren't meant for quality prints, and they fade quickly, as well as tend to be unfocussed and off color. There are other professional print labs, and I'm happy to recommend others to you if you choose not to use my website.
